Sofia Pernas was born in Morocco. She relocated to California in the age of five. Her family lived mainly on the coast of Orange County. In the year 2015, she graduated from University of California San Diego and received her first big break as an actress. Pernas has made minor appearances on NCIS as well as Leverage before she was cast in the role of Marisa on The Young and the Restless she was a regular face on the soap show. Following her departure from the soap-opera in 2016, the actress landed another recurring part in Jane the Virgin as Catalina. The model, who is proficient in four languages has been seen since appearing on The Brave and The Green Ghost as Hannah Rivera. She also made an appearance on Secret Society of Second Born Royals. In Blood & Treasure, from 2019, until 2020 she played Lexi Vaziri. Us Weekly confirmed in May 2020 that Pernas is dating her former The Young and the Restless star Justin Hartley. The actress from This Is Us Pernas began dating Justin Hartley following her breakup with Chrishell Stase, whom she was engaged to since November of 2019. In May 2021, news surfaced that Pernas Hartley had recently married in secret.
